Episode 49 was the end of the in-security show… or at least Season 1! We re-discover our inner organizational skills and start Season 2 focused on how to apply information security to your home or small business.

Topic for this week: Network Security for your home Network
Fundamental concepts of security are Protect, Detect, Respond and React.

This time we start talking about what it means to secure your home network. We talk about Internet Service Provider Equipment and security about being in control. Max recommended increasing your security by buying your own firewall & router regardless if your ISP modem provides those options for you.

This time we discuss connectivity to the Internet and considerations that need to be made there.

After discovering that this is a broader topic than can be handled well in one episode we agreed to pick away at this topic covering all the aspects of this. I promised to provide a framework to make sure all aspects get covered. The NIST Cybersecurity Framework isn’t my favorite structure for a framework, but it’s free so we’ll use that one.
