Topic for this week: Internet of Things
Internet of Things (IoT) isn’t the traditional devices that go on the Internet like computers, phone, or network equipment. It’s appliances like light bulbs, fridges, toasters, security cameras, and other single purpose devices. The following are some of the links that we used as reference that either made the cut or didn’t:
– Ars Technica article on cameras that let Internet strangers creepily spy on sleeping kids.
– The Rapid7 article I mentioned on VXWorks vulnerable satellites in orbit.
– At the time of the podcast this was an active VxWorks scan using the Shodan.io tool.
– IoT being used as a breaking into a casino database through the fishtank IoT thermometer.
